Foundation of the OWTS User Group Germany

During the SebaKMT symposium the “OWTS User Group Germany” was founded.

On 11^th/12^th December 2005 the traditional SebaKMT symposium took place in Baunach, which is arranged every 2 years to coincide with the VDN (Association of German network operators) network congress.

There were contributions from our guest speakers, Mr. Keller from DEW Dortmund and Mr. Bövingloh, on the strategic benefits of partial discharge diagnosis for maintenance, as well as from prof Gulski from the technical university of Delft on the subject of structured data harvesting and evaluation in the scope of asset management databases, all providing interesting material for discussions.

The establishment of the “OWTS User Group Germany” must be seen as a highlight of the conference. The organised cooperation and the exchange of experiences on OWTS technology should contribute to the efficient use of the technology.

The necessity and the diverse benefits of partial discharge diagnosis are becoming clearer to the electricity supply companies.

Due to the current influence and requirements from the German federal network agency, the significance of the medium voltage networks is increasing, so that, amongst other things, proof of the quality of installations will be of increasing importance.
