A new capacitor is available for the OWTS for short cable stretches and test objects (VPE cables shorter than 300 m).

Because it is connected parallel to the test object and thus increases overall capacitance, the test frequency is reduced and therefore closer to the operating frequency (less than 400 Hz). The new capacitor is for both versions, the OWTS M 28 and the OWTS M 60. At the same time, the capacitor is smaller, more compact and much lighter. All new OWTS systems are prepared for the connection of an additional capacitor (however, the capacitor is not part of the standard scope of delivery). Other new accessories include the connection of SF6 substation and a field control electrode which prevents partial discharges in the connection zone.
