Using tracer gas for leak location is based on the provenmethod of locating leakages in marsh gas pipe lines with electronic gas tracing instruments.
Our H2 LUX is very well suited, with its precise and quick response, for minute location of smallest leakages.
Due to its low specific weight and its molecular structure, tracer gas has the ability to rapidly penetrate all materials (concrete, tiles, tar etc.) and to ascend vertically, where it can be consequently traced with the H2 LUX .
To locate a leakage, the pipe line to be examined is filled with tracer gas, which exits at the leakage and is accurately located on the surface.

Tracergas
The tracer gas does not consist of pure hydrogen but of a gas mix made up of 5% Hydrogen and 95% nitrogen. This gas mix is non-flammable, non-toxic, non-corrosive and environment-friendly. Hydrogen, as well as nitrogen occur in all biological systems. |
